Blues artist, GUY DAVIS has been. Not once, but twice ! And you can be too !! Just try dealing rationally with these folks.
We chose the name, Bishopstock.ORG for this website for its sheer irony, because this festival is BY FAR the most DIS-organized one I've ever encountered.
I want to believe it's disorganized anyway, because I'd hate to think that they'd be cold, calculating, manipulative, egocentric, unfeeling, insensitive, uncaring, or just plain stupid about the way they treat artists that they INVITE to play at their festival !
Guy Davis' story is on the next page. In light of them recently filing for Receivership (we know it here in the States as Bankrupcy) there are many folks out there with stories to tell. So, we'd like to hear from you because we know for a fact that you're out, and we'd like to collect them here.

They hold the Bishopstock Blues Music Festival on the grounds of programming "queen", Helen Myers' home at Bishop's Court Palace, which is an 850 year old English Heritage Grade 1 listed Palace. ----- It looks sorta like the one in the picture above (at least to this two-bedroom dwelling commoner).

I used to say in the past, before the festival's attorneys attempted to obstruct our site, that you could check out the official Bishopstock Blues Festival site yourself by clicking below and check out their hypocritical statements and "high & mighty" pronouncements about how wonderful they want everyone to feel by coming.
However, now that they've gone into Receivership (bankrupcy protection), their site says they're "under construction" as of 13 September 2001.
Their site used to have a copy of the Mid Devon Star article showing them using Guy's name in the promotional efforts before the tragedy struck the farmers of the UK last Spring with the devastating 'Hoof & Mouth' problems. I have a copy of it I can send you if you'd like.
And just in case there's ANY doubt in your mind about any of this, it should be noted that we have the original contracts signed personally by Helen Myers as well as the fax they sent confirming Guy being rescheduled to the August dates.
